Fullstack Engineer (with DevOps focus) (f/m/d) at climate tech start-up

Role

Fullstack Engineer (with DevOps focus) at Exnaton — a remote-friendly role for EU countries. You will join a ~30-person team and help shape the product and architecture from the ground up across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Fullstack

• Develop a state-of-the-art application for the energy sector.
• Build highly reliable software and operate customer deployments.
• Own frontend and/or backend components from conceptualisation through production.
• Work as part of a collaborative, ownership-driven engineering team.

DevOps (focus)

• Ensure reliability and scalability of deployments for high availability and performance.
• Streamline development workflows via automation to improve pipeline efficiency and transparency.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure (including efficient server provisioning and multi-tenancy architecture).
• Manage AWS infrastructure and the CI/CD pipeline, automating deployments.
• Improve monitoring/logging for observability; quickly detect, diagnose, and resolve system issues and identify root causes.
• Improve microservices architecture for scalability, efficiency, and security.
• Strengthen system security by applying best practices and improving access controls.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in cloud/SaaS software development and modern software architectures.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frontend frameworks, including core concepts such as component boundaries and state management, plus some experience with data visualisation.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures focused on scalability/performance.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines for smooth automated deployments.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, including managing AWS-hosted environments.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.

Nice-to-haves (implied by the stack)

• Experience working in polyglot service environments (TypeScript, Python, C#) and with GitOps (Flux) and event-driven systems.
