Fullstack Engineer - Merchant EMEA

Role Overview

You’ll be a Fullstack Engineer on Merchant EMEA, building technology that helps merchants join, grow, and operate successfully across Wolt’s markets.

This role is based in Wolt’s tech hubs in Helsinki or Berlin.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain production software across backend services and user-facing applications
• Work on merchant journey areas such as:
  • merchant onboarding
  • analytics and recommendations
  • menu and order management
  • integrations
  • merchant-facing tools
• Develop reliable APIs, data models, services, and user-facing features
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, operations, data, and other engineers to turn business needs into technical solutions
• Own features end-to-end: implementation → production → ongoing maintenance
• Participate in technical design discussions and improve quality, scalability, observability, and maintainability
• Use AI-assisted development tools effectively, while critically evaluating outputs and taking ownership of the final solution
• Be willing to work beyond your primary expertise to solve problems end-to-end

Requirements / Humble Expectations

• AI-first mindset with experience leveraging modern AI tools while applying solid engineering principles to solve end-to-end
• Proven experience building production software (backend, frontend, or fullstack) at scale
• Strong expertise in at least one area, with willingness to contribute outside it when needed
• Experience with modern backend and/or frontend tech, such as Go, Kotlin, Java, and/or TypeScript, React
• Good understanding of APIs, databases, testing, and software design fundamentals
