Fullstack Engineer, Flutter

Role Overview

Full-stack software engineer to develop and maintain custom applications on the VTEX IO platform and store themes. You’ll build high-performance storefronts, design backend microservices/APIs, and contribute to mobile app features using Flutter.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain custom applications within VTEX IO and Store Themes, integrating with VTEX APIs and third-party services.
• Build responsive, high-performance storefronts optimized for Core Web Vitals, SSR, and caching.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend microservices and REST/GraphQL APIs using Node.js + TypeScript.
• Implement security best practices (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, rate limiting, secrets management).
• Ensure observability using structured logging, metrics, and tracing; document APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Develop mobile features in Flutter, including payment methods, push notifications, real-time communication, and Firebase integration.
• Own work from design through deployment and operation; create technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, gather requirements, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements

• Strong experience with the VTEX ecosystem: store configuration/customization, VTEX IO, and app development.
• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern web fundamentals: JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, with mobile-first responsiveness.
• Backend experience with Node.js + TypeScript and designing REST/GraphQL APIs.
• ORM and database experience: TypeORM/Prisma/Sequelize and relational DBs such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Microservices experience with Clean Architecture and SOLID principles.
• Security knowledge: OAuth2, JWT, rate limiting, and input validation.
• Testing: Jest (unit) and Cypress (end-to-end).
• DevOps/CI/CD familiarity: GitHub Actions or Bitbucket Pipelines, plus Docker and Kubernetes.
• Mobile development with Flutter using Clean Architecture and state management (BLoC/Cubit/Riverpod) plus performance optimization.
• E-commerce payment integration experience (tokenization, 3DS, fraud prevention, PCI compliance).
• Cloud and IaC: AWS/GCP/Azure and Terraform.
• Ability to handle complex integrations (e.g., ERP/OMS/CRM, messaging, streaming systems).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to mentor.

Nice-to-haves / Additional emphasis

• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger for API documentation.
• Experience with ERP/OMS/CRM and event/streaming style integrations.
