Fullstack Developer (Python/React)

Role overview

Full-time Fullstack Developer (Python/React) at micro1. This is a hands-on role designing, building, and shipping production systems end-to-end with a small, senior, remote team.

Location/working hours: Remote, with a requirement to overlap PST timezone for at least 6–8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, high-performance backend APIs with Python + FastAPI.
• Develop and enhance frontend interfaces with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Integrate LLMs and AI Agents into the platform (e.g., trainer feedback systems and AI-assisted workflows).
• Implement concurrency patterns and backend optimizations for performance and growing workloads.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and data models for efficient, reliable data operations.
• Improve scalability, performance, and reliability across both frontend and backend.
• Maintain clean architecture and modular services with production-grade code quality.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues to ensure stability and long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• Advanced React experience, including scalable and maintainable UI systems with Next.js and TypeScript.
• Expert FastAPI experience building production-grade Python APIs.
• Advanced Python skills, including concurrency, asynchronous programming, and performance optimization.
• Intermediate SQL skills (query writing/debugging and basic database performance tuning).
• Strong frontend fundamentals; experience building maintainable UIs with Tailwind CSS (or similar).
• Experience integrating APIs and building service-oriented architectures.
• Practical experience deploying or maintaining services in AWS.
• Strong communication and collaborative mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM APIs or AI-driven product features.
• Exposure to prompt engineering, AI workflows, or automation pipelines.
• Familiarity with agentic systems and tool-using/multi-step reasoning models.
