About the role
Role Overview
Torus is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer for a US-based remote position to build and evolve the Torus platform. You’ll design, develop, and deliver scalable systems that support hardware-software integration, customer-facing applications, and internal tools, partnering closely with Product, Design, Firmware, Data Science, and other engineering teams.
What You’ll Do
Full Stack Development & Delivery
- Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using modern technologies
- Build backend services, APIs, and data models for customer-facing and internal systems
- Develop responsive, high-performance front-end interfaces
- Participate in system design and architecture discussions with thoughtful tradeoffs
- Own features across the full SDLC: requirements → design → implementation → testing → deployment → support
Backend & Cloud Systems
- Implement cloud-native solutions using AWS
- Develop RESTful APIs, event-driven services, and integrations supporting hardware-software coordination
- Ensure reliability, security, and scalability
AI Experience & Application
- Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, debugging, documentation) to improve productivity and code quality
- Integrate AI-enabled APIs/services into applications
- Evaluate AI outputs for accuracy and reliability
Collaboration & Team Contribution
- Partner with Product and Design to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Collaborate with firmware/IoT and data teams on integrated system functionality
