Full Stack Software Engineer

Role Overview

Full Stack Software Engineer at Clever Real Estate (100% remote within the United States). You will build and maintain scalable backend systems and contribute to front-end and platform robustness, performance, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, maintain, and refactor front- and backend systems across the product lifecycle.
• Build and drive complex cross-functional projects from kickoff to completion by breaking work into clear workstreams.
• Communicate architectural/design decisions transparently and collaborate closely with teammates.
• Use AI coding tools to accelerate implementation and focus on high-impact engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers, designers, and engineers throughout delivery.
• Ensure platform infrastructure is robust, scalable, and efficient.
• Participate in forums like architecture reviews and guilds to improve continuously.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with scalable architecture.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Ruby.
• Strong understanding of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Strong understanding of REST.
• Proficiency in CSS.
• Database modeling and querying.
• Knowledge of design patterns and when to apply them.
• Ability to break down complex problems and collaborate on tradeoffs.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Ruby on Rails; Hotwire, Turbo, Stimulus.
• Experience with Django (MVC frameworks).
• Frontend experience with Next.js and/or Gatsby.
• Mobile experience (iOS/Android).
• Tailwind CSS or similar.
• Automated visual testing tools such as Selenium or AI-driven testing.
• Experience with AWS, Heroku, or Vercel.
• Experience with microservices or miniliths.

Location & Compensation

• Remote (U.S. only)
• $140,000–$160,000 USD/year + bonus
