Full-Stack Software Engineer

Role Overview

ChitChat is seeking a security-conscious Full-Stack Software Engineer to help strengthen, maintain, and expand its creator-commerce platform. You’ll work across frontend, backend, databases, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations—owning complex technical problems and ensuring reliable releases.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend features with React, TypeScript, and Vite
• Build and improve backend services with NestJS, Node.js, TypeScript, TypeORM, and MySQL
• Design secure, scalable REST and GraphQL API integrations
• Maintain Shopify product import and merchant workflows (OAuth, synchronization, connections)
• Support payment integrations (e.g., PayPal and other providers)
• Implement livestream and recording functionality using Agora
• Develop subscription commerce, group-buying, and commerce-related features (seller/creator/product/order/payout)
• Investigate and resolve production bugs, performance issues, and data inconsistencies
• Implement authentication/authorization with RBAC and resource-ownership validation; prevent leakage of sensitive data (passwords/tokens/payment/personal data)
• Review database queries, migrations, transactions, and entity relationships for security and performance
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for critical workflows
• Improve CI/CD with automated build/test/security/deployment checks
• Maintain deployments using Kubernetes, Docker, DigitalOcean, and Cloudflare
• Review existing code for risks, recommend improvements, and document decisions and deployment procedures
• Collaborate with leadership, product stakeholders, and other engineers

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional full-stack development
• Strong React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Strong backend experience with Node.js and NestJS (or comparable framework)
• Relational database experience (preferably MySQL and TypeORM)
• Experience building and securing APIs
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, JWT, OAuth 2.0, encryption, and secure credential management
• Experience integrating third-party APIs/platforms
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub PRs, code reviews, and branching practices
• Experience with Docker and cloud-based deployments
• Ability to diagnose production issues using logs, DB records, API responses, and code
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
• Strong written communication and technical documentation
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Shopify Admin APIs (GraphQL, OAuth, product imports, webhooks, inventory sync)
• Payment experience (e.g., PayPal, Stripe, subscriptions, refunds, payouts, payment webhooks)
• Livestreaming experience (e.g., Agora RTC/RTM, cloud recording)
• Kubernetes and DigitalOcean experience
• Cloudflare Pages and object storage experience
