Full Stack Software Engineer

Role Overview

Join Cape as a Full Stack Software Engineer to help build systems enabling resilient global connectivity with a focus on security and privacy. You’ll take ownership of impactful projects and work across the full stack to deliver reliable, responsive web applications.

• Develop reactive, reliable web applications by translating designs into high-quality code.
• Improve user workflows by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless user experiences.

Requirements

• Understanding of cryptographic systems and how to design privacy-conscious solutions.
• Proven ability to learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Strong ownership: take problems from ideation to production.
• Thoughtful, practical problem-solving with awareness of tradeoffs and avoiding over-engineering.
• Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly, even without deep prior experience.
• Comfort operating in a fast-changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teammates and understand user impact.
• Exceptional coding skills; especially with:
  • TypeScript + React (or similar frontend)
  • Go (or similar backend)
• 4+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Engineering background in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics).
• Experience crafting complex UX and strong intuition for design/usability.
• Familiarity with data structures, loading patterns, web frameworks, and related technical concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with fast iteration and high quality standards.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience brainstorming and iterating with product designers.
