About the role

Role Overview

Join Amplify as a Full Stack Software Engineer in a full-remote position. You’ll work on projects that improve literacy assessments and help build a best-in-class learning platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable end-user experiences.

Key Missions

Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable software solutions for Amplify’s learning platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across project phases—from ideation through production.
Participate in a collaborative engineering environment by reviewing other engineers’ code and taking part in learning sessions.

Requirements

Experience with modern frontend and backend web technologies.
Ability to communicate technical concepts verbally and in writing.
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent training.
2–6 years of professional software development experience using Python and JavaScript.
Strong problem-solving skills with experience working in complex systems and large codebases.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and engage in self-driven learning.
Experience with modern databases and good software design using modern engineering practices.
Passion for building education products and improving equity and accessibility.

Nice to Have / Additional Skills

Experience with data stores such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Snowflake.
Experience with web technologies, including REST and GraphQL APIs.
Cloud infrastructure experience with tools such as AWS AppSync, Lambdas, Datadog, Terraform, and Docker.
Automated testing experience using Jest and WebdriverIO.
