Full Stack Principal Software Engineer (Event Technology)

Role Overview

Join Salesforce as a Full Stack Principal Software Engineer in the Event Technology team. You will define and drive the technical vision and strategy for the Event Technology portfolio, ensuring architectural integrity and alignment with business and Marketing Technology goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architectural strategy and direction for the Event Technology and websites portfolio, aligned with Marketing Technology’s technology vision.
• Architect, design, implement, test, and deliver highly scalable applications and services.
• Ensure platforms operate optimally in a hybrid engineering model.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, lead engineers, product, UX, and other teams during application design.
• Contribute to innovation with a focus on scalability, performance, observability, resilience, and user experience.
• Apply service ownership principles and proactively prevent issues before customers notice.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software development experience delivering and operating production systems.
• Deep understanding of software development and architecture principles.
• Proven technical leadership in architecture, design, and implementation of complex systems.
• Expertise in building observable and resilient systems.
• Strong experience with service ownership and proactively preventing customer-impacting issues.
• Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor) in daily workflows; ability to improve AI usage across engineers.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Experience building high-scale microservices on public cloud (preferred: AWS), including services such as:
  • Lambda, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, API Gateway (and more)
• Expertise consuming and ideally building GraphQL and RESTful APIs, including API security best practices.
• Full-stack development experience with:
  • JavaScript + TypeScript
  • React
  • Node.js
  • CSS frameworks such as Tailwind or Sass
• Proven ability to mentor and help engineers grow technically.
• Knowledge of mobile and cross-platform/browser test automation.
• Experience collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver strong user experiences.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies: Scrum and Kanban.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-Haves / Additional Skills

• Experience with Snowflake and Google Analytics.
• Experience configuring CDNs such as Akamai.
