About the role

Role Overview

Join SCHED’s mobile team as a Full Stack Mobile Engineer. You’ll build and maintain native iOS and Android applications, support whitelabel customer apps, and contribute to the PHP API/backend services that power the mobile experience.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain native Android features with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
Build and maintain native iOS features with Swift and UIKit/Swift UI
Support whitelabel apps and their automated build systems
Integrate with platform APIs for:
- Push notifications
- Offline storage
- Background sync
- Deep linking
Debug production issues across device types, OS versions, and network conditions
Manage mobile CI/CD pipelines and app store submission/release processes
Work with the PHP REST API and help evolve API contracts (versioning/backward compatibility)
Implement mobile-facing API endpoints for new feature work
Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents
Improve quality via:
- Automated tests (unit/integration/UI)
- Code reviews across both mobile platforms
- Documentation of technical decisions and release procedures
Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to scope, deliver, and communicate tradeoffs

Requirements

5+ years professional software engineering experience
At least 2 years shipping production native mobile apps
Strong proficiency in:
- Swift (iOS)
- Kotlin (Android)
Experience releasing apps via:
- Apple App Store (builds, signing, review processes, releases)
- Google Play Store
Ability to modernize and work within existing native codebases without breaking them
Experience with native UI frameworks:
- SwiftUI and UIKit
- Jetpack Compose
Experience consuming REST APIs from mobile apps
Experience writing automated tests for mobile (unit/integration/UI)
Ability to work through ambiguity and adjust as requirements evolve
Willingness to join on-call and respond to production incidents
Clear written and verbal communication to explain technical decisions

Nice to Have

Experience with PHP (preferred—posting cuts off mid-sentence)
