Full-Stack Java Developer

Role Overview

Full-Stack Java Developer (Active IRS MBI Clearance required) based in Herndon, VA with remote work.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement microservice-based architecture for JEE applications
• Develop scalable web and batch applications
• Build backend services using Java frameworks and technologies such as:
  • Spring Boot, Core Java, JDBC, SQL
  • RESTful APIs and microservices
• Develop frontend components as needed using:
  • React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Follow Agile development practices and participate in Agile ceremonies
• Integrate backend and frontend with secure, efficient data flow
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and web services
• Support database integration and data management
• Write and run unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Debug issues and address performance bottlenecks

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree)
• 8+ years total IT experience primarily as a Full-Stack Java Developer
• 3+ years hands-on backend Java development
• Experience building robust web applications with Java on the backend and JavaScript/HTML/CSS on the frontend
• Strong server-side and database integration experience
• Experience with RESTful APIs and web services (e.g., Spring, Hibernate)
• Database experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, and/or MongoDB
• Experience with client-side validation, event handling, and dynamic content updates
• Testing experience (unit/integration/e2e) and debugging/performance troubleshooting
• Agile team collaboration experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating/editing technical documents and user manuals
• Ability to work effectively in a shifting, priority-driven, deadline-focused environment
