Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

Full Stack Engineer (Software Engineer - Full Stack) at SleepImage. You’ll be an individual contributor building and maintaining the software platform behind the SleepImage System, working across the stack from data ingestion to a clinician-facing clinical portal.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across TypeScript/Node.js backends and React frontends
• Work with AWS to deploy and operate reliable, scalable services
• Build services that ingest patient device data (uploaded from mobile devices) and surface it in the clinical portal
• Model, optimize, and query SQL databases to support processing and reporting workflows
• Collaborate with product, clinical, quality, and engineering teams to meet user needs and regulatory requirements
• Write tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
• Support documentation, traceability, and quality processes to keep software audit-ready and compliant

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong production experience with TypeScript and Node.js
• Hands-on experience with AWS
• Experience developing in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare/medical devices/finance/aviation) with emphasis on quality, traceability, and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with: React, oRPC, Drizzle, zod, TanStack, Vitest/Jest, Playwright
• Experience designing schemas and writing queries in MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with medical device standards: IEC 62304, ISO 13485, HIPAA/GDPR and PHI handling
• Prior experience with: SaMD (Software as a Medical Device), medical devices, digital health
• Experience with mobile/clinical data ingestion patterns (including Bluetooth/device data and clinician/patient-facing healthcare apps)

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $130,000 – $160,000 USD
• Benefits: Medical, dental, vision; life insurance and disability; PTO and company-observed holidays

Location & Work Authorization

• Fully remote for candidates located in the United States
• Optional office work in Denver, CO (Cherry Creek)
• Remote employees expected to travel to Denver 2–3 times per year
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
