Full Stack Engineer

Role Overview

ORION GROUPS is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to build user interfaces and back-end systems for web applications, with a primary focus on front-end development and the ability to deliver end-to-end enterprise solutions for a health system.

Opportunity

• Contract: 6-month W2 contract with extension
• Remote: Fully Remote (U.S., all time zones)
• Compensation: $110,000–$125,000 (W2) + benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Design & build highly interactive, responsive, and user-friendly web interfaces using modern front-end libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
• Connect front-end and back-end integrations using Next.js and develop related middleware
• Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes (e.g., Figma) into production-quality code
• Implement client-side logic, state management, and asynchronous operations
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility, web standards, and accessibility (WCAG)
• Optimize performance for speed and scalability
• Develop and maintain robust server-side applications and APIs (e.g., Next.js, Node.js, Python/Django/Flask)
• Design/manage databases using SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Implement authentication/authorization and security best practices
• Integrate with third-party services and external APIs
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers for end-to-end delivery
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical design
• Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code
• Conduct code reviews, give constructive feedback, and mentor junior members
• Troubleshoot/debug complex issues across the full stack
• Stay current with emerging technologies and improve processes/tools

Key Experience / Requirements

• 5+ years professional experience in front-end development
• 3+ years back-end experience demonstrating full-stack capability
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern front-end framework/library (e.g., React, Next.js, Angular, Vue.js)
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3 (plus SASS/LESS and/or Tailwind CSS/Styled Components)
• Experience with at least one back-end language/framework (e.g., Next.js, Node.js (Express/NestJS), Python (Django/Flask))
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL); NoSQL experience (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) is a plus
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design; GraphQL is a plus
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
• Testing knowledge (unit/integration/e2e) and experience with Jest or Playwright (preferred)

Nice to Have

• Serverless (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, GCP Cloud Functions/Run)
• Experience with Sitecore XM Cloud / Sitecore AI
• Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
