Full Stack Engineer, Commerce

Role overview

Calendly is hiring a Full Stack Engineer (Commerce) for the Commerce Squad. You’ll help customers discover, buy, and get value from Calendly by shipping high-impact features quickly and safely to support revenue growth.

Responsibilities

• Build and iterate on commerce features with measurable business impact across self-serve and enterprise customers.
• Contribute to platform scaling, improving reliability and performance in user-critical flows.
• Partner with Product and Design to refine requirements, define MVPs, and instrument experiments to validate value quickly.
• Participate in agile ceremonies to plan and deliver work with predictable cadence.
• Work across squads to improve engineering practices and evolve monorepo tooling and service boundaries.
• Review peers’ plans and pull requests, focusing on simplicity, maintainability, and incremental delivery.
• Use AI assistants thoughtfully to scaffold code, generate tests, draft documentation, analyze logs, and accelerate experiments—while exercising judgment and following AI usage guidelines.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience in a SaaS or technology-driven environment.
• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript for end-to-end front-end feature delivery.
• Professional backend engineering experience with Node.js.

Nice-to-haves / additional context

• Experience working in a system where a monolith is being decomposed into services.
• Familiarity with modern cloud and platform tooling, including:
  • Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Argo Workflows
  • Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, GraphQL
