About the role

Role overview

Full-stack Developer, Web & Mobile to deliver high-quality mobile and web experiences and ensure products meet user needs. You will report to the Director, Engineering & Quality Assurance and work with the Products & Services team in a remote U.S.-based role.

Responsibilities

Translate requirements into technical specifications and plan, design, develop, and maintain web and mobile features.
Build and maintain cross-platform UI components and features using:
- React Native (iOS/Android)
- React (web)
Implement clean, efficient, documented code aligned with repository standards.
Manage parts of the deployment lifecycle, including contributing to deployment scripts and monitoring post-release health.
Design and implement API functionality and integrations with external systems.
Architect scalable API endpoints with high performance and reliable operation.
Implement security measures including data validation, authentication, and authorization.
Optimize and document API performance and provide usage guidance/troubleshooting.
Perform thorough unit testing across mobile and web to maintain cross-platform consistency.

First-year priorities

Increase automated test coverage to 90% for critical, bug-prone parts of the application.
Integrate crash and performance monitoring to track and minimize unexpected mobile behavior in real time.
Lead strategy development on at least one significant mobile feature.
Build, test, and release three core features spanning React (web) and React Native (mobile).
Improve key performance areas (e.g., reduce load times and improve backend request efficiency) by 15%.

Requirements / qualifications

Experienced in mobile app development and web development.
Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Expertise in React Native and React.

Nice-to-haves

Experience working with Ruby on Rails (Web) and API integrations.
Experience with automated testing, error handling, and graceful recovery patterns.
