About the role

Role Overview

Join Gorin Systems as a Full-Stack Developer (React / Node.js) on a distributed team. You will take ownership of features and bug fixes across one or two client projects, shipping code daily using an AI-assisted workflow.

Responsibilities

Build features end-to-end from Linear issues (frontend + backend), including tests and deployment to staging
Use AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) as a core part of development, while applying engineering fundamentals to review, debug, and correct AI output
Collaborate and code review: review teammate PRs, catch regressions (including from AI-assisted merges), and uphold code quality across shared repos
Debug production issues: triage bugs reported by clients/PMs, investigate logs, reproduce issues, and ship hotfixes
Communicate progress: update Linear daily, flag blockers early, maintain clear commit messages and PR descriptions, attend weekly syncs
Time tracking: log work in Hubstaff with task association (screenshots are reviewed for QA)

Required Qualifications

3+ years of professional full-stack development experience
Strong proficiency in React (hooks, context, component architecture)
Proficiency in Node.js
Experience with Next.js (SSR/API routes; App Router preferred)
Comfortable using TypeScript in production
Solid relational database understanding (preferred: PostgreSQL) and ability to write/optimize queries
Strong Git workflow skills (feature branches, PRs, rebasing)
Ability to read/debug unfamiliar code, including AI-generated code
Strong English communication (written) for daily Linear updates and Slack/PR communication

Nice-to-Haves (Implied by Stack/Exposure)

Experience with React Native (Expo)
Experience with Express and/or Next.js API routes
Experience with Supabase/Neon (PostgreSQL) and other integrations (e.g., Stripe/Braintree, marketplace APIs)
Comfort with occasional scripting/data pipelines in Python
