About the role

Role overview

Join Gorin Systems as a Full-Stack Developer (React / Node.js) on a distributed team. You’ll own features and bug fixes across 1–2 client projects, working primarily with React and Node.js while also gaining exposure to Next.js and React Native.

You’ll receive well-scoped issues in Linear and ship working, tested code (not just PRs that look good). AI tools are a core part of the workflow, but strong engineering fundamentals are required to review, debug, and correct AI-generated output.

Responsibilities

Build end-to-end features from Linear issues: implement frontend + backend changes, write tests, and push to staging
Use AI-assisted development (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) while knowing when to write code manually
Collaborate and maintain code quality by reviewing PRs, preventing regressions (including from AI merges), and adhering to standards across shared repos
Debug production issues: triage and fix bugs, investigate logs, reproduce issues, and deploy hotfixes
Communicate progress: update Linear daily, flag blockers early, write clear commit messages and PR descriptions, attend weekly team syncs
Track time in Hubstaff with task association (and provide screenshots for QA)

Minimum qualifications

3+ years professional full-stack development experience
Strong proficiency in React (hooks, context, component architecture)
Strong proficiency in Node.js
Experience with Next.js (SSR and API routes; App Router preferred)
Comfortable using TypeScript in production codebases
Solid understanding of relational databases, PostgreSQL preferred (including query optimization)
Experience with Git workflows (feature branches, PRs, rebasing)
Ability to read and debug code you didn’t write (including AI-generated code)
Strong English communication skills (written), including daily Linear updates and PR/Slack communication
Available during core overlap hours starting at 9 (core hours indicated as “9” in the posting)

Nice-to-haves / helpful exposure

Experience with Supabase/Neon (PostgreSQL platforms)
Familiarity with Express, React Native (Expo), and Next.js API routes
Experience integrating payments and third-party APIs (e.g., Stripe/Braintree, marketplace APIs)
