About the role
Role Overview
Full Stack Developer (Python) for the Research and Insights Solution Center (RISC) supporting federal oversight, audits, and investigations. You will build and modernize data-driven web applications that turn large, disparate datasets into actionable intelligence for auditors, investigators, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development across the Agile SDLC for existing Python-based applications.
- Enhance architecture, scalability, and maintainability for enterprise-wide use.
- Build secure, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using FastAPI.
- Develop responsive front-end experiences, including SPAs and interactive dashboards.
- Integrate complex datasets and enable analytics connectivity via Azure Databricks and PySpark.
- Design and tune databases for high performance across large-scale datasets (SQL and NoSQL).
- Integrate AI capabilities and external AI APIs into web applications.
- Apply modern DevOps practices including CI/CD and containerization with Docker.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, Information Systems, or related field.
- At least 1 year of specialized experience with:
- Python programming
- SQL
- Developing applications in cloud environments (specifically Microsoft Azure).
- Proficiency with:
- Python
- FastAPI (back-end)
- Relational databases
- Modern DevOps (CI/CD, Docker)
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Effective communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Front-end framework experience: React or Angular
- Advanced web application development and cloud architecture expertise in Azure, including:
- Azure Databricks
- Cosmos DB
- Knowledge of postal operations, law enforcement, and auditing processes.
