Full stack Developer (python)

Role Overview

Full Stack Developer (Python) for the Research and Insights Solution Center (RISC) supporting federal oversight, audits, and investigations. You will build and modernize data-driven web applications that turn large, disparate datasets into actionable intelligence for auditors, investigators, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development across the Agile SDLC for existing Python-based applications.
• Enhance architecture, scalability, and maintainability for enterprise-wide use.
• Build secure, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using FastAPI.
• Develop responsive front-end experiences, including SPAs and interactive dashboards.
• Integrate complex datasets and enable analytics connectivity via Azure Databricks and PySpark.
• Design and tune databases for high performance across large-scale datasets (SQL and NoSQL).
• Integrate AI capabilities and external AI APIs into web applications.
• Apply modern DevOps practices including CI/CD and containerization with Docker.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least 1 year of specialized experience with:
  • Python programming
  • SQL
  • Developing applications in cloud environments (specifically Microsoft Azure).
• Proficiency with:
  • Python
  • FastAPI (back-end)
  • Relational databases
  • Modern DevOps (CI/CD, Docker)
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Front-end framework experience: React or Angular
• Advanced web application development and cloud architecture expertise in Azure, including:
  • Azure Databricks
  • Cosmos DB
• Knowledge of postal operations, law enforcement, and auditing processes.
