About the role
Role Overview
Full-time Full Stack / Software Engineer Development Support position at HCLTech (Austin, TX; listed as remote). You will provide development support to engineers across the organization, working on internal applications, frameworks, and tooling that improve software engineering and delivery quality.
Responsibilities
- Triage and respond to support questions and requests from engineers working with Linux-based source control systems.
- Debug and diagnose issues by extracting insights from log files and other sources to identify owners and root causes.
- Build basic tools and test cases to improve the speed and quality of support.
- Collaborate with technical writers to improve documentation for supported areas.
- Create performance reports for leadership using program metrics.
- Provide product insights and suggestions related to product development and the product roadmap.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3+ years building software systems; strong fundamentals in data structures, debugging, and software design.
- Hands-on experience with GIT and at least one language used for large-scale development (backend and frontend), e.g. Java, Python, PHP, JavaScript, TypeScript.
- Database systems knowledge (mandatory).
Nice-to-Haves / Preferred Attributes
- Experience with Mercurial and Sapling.
- Basic SQL.
- Linux knowledge.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay range: $79,000–$121,000 per year.
- Eligible benefits may include medical/dental/vision, retirement (401(k)), paid time off, and other insurance benefits, subject to company policies.
