Full Stack Developer (Frontend Emphasis)

Role Overview

Senior Full Stack Developer (Frontend Emphasis) to build and sustain a mission-critical command and control system for the Mobility Air Force. The role emphasizes front-end architecture, UI performance, and maintainable component development while contributing across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and deploy single page applications (SPAs) with React.js and TypeScript.
• Participate in front-end architecture decisions: state management, component structure, routing, and build configuration.
• Build reusable UI components, forms, and interactive views aligned with mission workflows.
• Integrate React apps with Java and .NET backend services via RESTful APIs.
• Create automated UI tests: unit, integration, and end-to-end.
• Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and adherence to modern UI best practices.
• Optimize performance (e.g., code splitting, lazy loading, efficient rendering).
• Implement secure front-end patterns (dependency hygiene, API input validation, token handling).
• Review/refactor front-end code to maintain consistency and long-term maintainability.
• Mentor engineers on React, TypeScript, testing strategies, and SPA architecture in an Agile environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years professional software development, with substantial front-end experience in React.js.
• Experience owning front-end architecture or major UI components in production SPAs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Ability to obtain or maintain a government security clearance (Secret).
• Prior DoD or federal experience is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• React Router and component-based architecture.
• Accessibility/compliance experience for government systems.
• Testing: Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress.
• SPA security patterns for authenticated apps.
• Basic backend development in Java or .NET.
• Containerization concepts (Docker) and CI/CD experience.
• Familiarity with SPA build tooling and deployment to AWS services.
