Full Stack Developer (EST)

Role Overview

EllieMD is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join its fast-growing engineering team. This is a remote role for candidates based in the United States, with periodic travel for team collaboration and company events.

You will work across EllieMD’s Next.js + React + Node.js platform to build and maintain:

• E-commerce subscription engine
• Customer, Partner, and Admin portals
• Internal tools and scripting workflows
• API backend (Express/TypeScript)
• Medical provider integrations
• Website and marketing systems

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain the full-stack platform using Next.js, React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Express
• Build scalable APIs, backend services, and modular frontend components
• Integrate third-party services (e.g., payments, authentication, analytics, notifications)
• Write automated tests and follow best-in-class engineering practices
• Participate in code reviews and drive continuous engineering improvements
• Support light DevOps: deployments, logging, monitoring, and CI improvements
• Help evolve the platform toward distributed, cloud-native systems (AWS/microservices/containerization is a bonus)

30–60–90 Day Plan

• 30 days: Get acclimated to the codebase; assist with lighter feature and maintenance work
• 60 days: Take on more complex and impactful engineering tasks
• 90 days: Contribute to team culture and technical advancement

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience
• Strong experience with Next.js, React, Node.js, Express, and TypeScript
• Experience building customer-facing web platforms, dashboards, or interactive apps
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Experience with MongoDB or similar document databases
• Familiarity with Git, Jest, and modern frontend design systems (Tailwind CSS or similar)
• Ability to ship high-quality features quickly in a startup environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in startups and/or health/health-tech/wellness
• Experience with regulated industries and compliance (e.g., HIPAA, FDA)
• Experience with e-commerce, subscriptions, payments, or checkout flows
• Experience with:
  • Distributed systems / microservices
  • AWS services (e.g., Lambda, ECS, S3, CloudWatch)
  • Infrastructure tooling (Docker, containers, cloud hosting)
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Observability and related practices
