About the role

Role Overview

Full-Stack Developer to design, develop, and maintain ComboCurve’s core applications across the full development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Full-stack development: Architect and implement new features end-to-end, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Frontend engineering: Build and maintain complex, data-visualization-heavy UIs using React and Material UI (MUI).
  • Form handling: Implement complex form logic and validation with React Hook Form.
  • Backend engineering: Create type-safe APIs using Node.js, Express.js, and tRPC.
  • Database & performance: Design, optimize, and manage MongoDB queries for large volumes of petroleum data (e.g., time-series production, well logs).
  • Type safety & quality: Use TypeScript across the stack to improve code quality and maintainability.
  • Collaboration: Partner with petroleum engineers and product managers to translate domain requirements into technical solutions.
  • Testing: Write comprehensive unit and integration tests.

Requirements

  • 3+ years professional experience as a full-stack developer, primarily with the MERN/TypeScript stack.
  • Strong TypeScript skills, including advanced features for large-scale projects.
  • Proven ability to build and deploy production-ready apps using tRPC for end-to-end type safety.
  • Deep experience with MongoDB schema design and query optimization for complex, relational-like data.
  • Experience or strong interest in petroleum engineering concepts and handling specialized technical data.
  • Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Petroleum engineering experience, particularly decline curve analysis.
  • Data visualization libraries experience (e.g., D3.js or ZingChart).
  • Cloud deployment experience (GCP/AWS or Azure).
  • Experience with mapping/GIS applications.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
