Full Stack Developer

Role Overview

BayNova is hiring a Full Stack Developer to support a federal government client. This is a fully remote / work-from-home role where you will own the end-to-end design and development of solutions and serve as a trusted technical leader within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support full life-cycle design and development of application solutions.
• Build and maintain Tomcat-based Servlet plugins for Atlassian products.
• Develop complex browser single-page applications (SPAs) using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular).
• Build applications with Maven and Webpack.
• Design, build, query, and manage RDBMS and NoSQL data stores.
• Develop and support Atlassian Jira/Confluence/Crowd plugins using modern (especially REST) APIs.
• Apply web accessibility knowledge (WCAG 2.0 / Section 508).
• Design and implement cloud-based resources on AWS and Azure.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and ARM.
• Use Git for version control and working code management.
• Use Jira and Confluence to communicate status and progress.
• Maintain the as-built catalog describing system behavior and build details.
• Contribute to product vision and roadmap improvements for portfolio applications.

Requirements

• 9+ years experience designing, implementing, and delivering applications using Java, JavaScript, and Python, including SQL/NoSQL persistence layers.
• Ability to work effectively in a scaled agile/Scrum environment and collaborate daily in a virtual setting.
• Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Position of Trust (background investigation required).

Nice to Have

• 5+ years cloud application support experience, including:
  • Containerized or VM-delivered servers (e.g., Tomcat, Node.js, Django)
  • Hosted database services (e.g., RDS, Dynamo, Azure SQL)
  • Serverless technologies (e.g., Lambda, App Functions)
  • Middleware/cloud services (e.g., S3, blob storage, Route 53, WAF, application gateways)
  • Linux, Spring Boot, Maven, IntelliJ/Eclipse
• 3+ years automated testing experience (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Protractor, Jasmine).
• 3+ years client-side JavaScript framework experience (e.g., React, React Native, Angular, Vue.js).
• Basic Bash/SSH on RHEL.
• Experience planning/leading/executing software and IT projects across varying sizes and complexity.
