Role: Frontend Software Engineer II

Join Bestow’s Frontend Platform team building frontend applications, libraries, tooling, and infrastructure that power the Bestow Platform.

What you’ll do

• Develop scalable frontend experiences using Bestow’s cutting-edge frontend platform.
• Design, develop, and optimize React-based micro front-ends, ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, and strong UX across devices.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to maintain GraphQL infrastructure.
• Partner with designers, backend engineers, and product managers to build and iterate on platform features aligned to user needs and technical feasibility.
• Implement unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Manage build and deployment pipelines using NX and CircleCI to streamline CI, testing, and deployment.

Who you are

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
• Strong interest in or deep understanding of GraphQL for data fetching, backend integration, and query optimization.
• Ability to implement accessible, intuitive, user-friendly designs in collaboration with design teams.
• Excellent communication skills across engineering, product management, and design stakeholders.
• Experience with unit/integration testing using tools such as Jest, Vitest, and React Testing Library.
• Experience managing build and deployment pipelines.
• Strong Git skills and experience collaborating via GitHub or GitLab.
• Familiarity with building scalable frontend architectures and frameworks.

Team & reporting

• Works with upstream engineering teams, experience design, and product management to define and prioritize the platform roadmap.
• Reports to the Director of Frontend Platforms initially, with progression to Sr Engineering Manager.
