Frontend Software Engineer

Role Overview

Join FIGS as a Frontend Software Engineer (full remote). You’ll help architect and drive the frontend roadmap, build customer-facing features, and contribute to scalable, maintainable UI systems.

Key Missions

• Contribute to the design and implementation of reusable component libraries and data models.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams to build frontend applications and features.
• Work on projects led by others and also lead projects independently.

Responsibilities

• Architect frontend solutions and participate in software/system design discussions.
• Build and ship customer-facing frontend applications.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience building frontend applications.
• Extensive experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Strong communication skills and an ownership mindset.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS and building rich user experiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable and maintainable frontend applications.
• Experience building and maintaining headless Shopify sites.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SPA frameworks: React (plus Vue/Svelte/Solid/Angular).
• Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful or Strapi.
• Production experience with web frameworks like Next.js or Nuxt.
• Awareness of accessibility challenges; familiarity with WCAG 2.1.
• Experience building/maintaining an enterprise design system.
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling: CircleCI, Docker, AWS CDK, Kubernetes.
• Experience configuring ESLint, Prettier, Yarn, Lerna and related TypeScript tooling.
• Knowledge of automated quality practices: unit tests, end-to-end tests, tracing, data observability.
