About the role

Role Overview

Frontend Engineer (Remote) on a contract basis. You will develop and maintain user interfaces for web applications, implementing responsive designs, integrating with backend systems, and optimizing frontend performance.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain responsive, accessible frontend components using modern JavaScript frameworks
Collaborate with designers and backend engineers to convert UI/UX wireframes into high-quality code
Optimize application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility
Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices
Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions

Required Qualifications

Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, including responsive design
Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular
Strong understanding of web accessibility standards and cross-browser compatibility
Familiarity with state management (e.g., Redux or Context API)
Experience with Git (version control)
Knowledge of build tools such as Webpack, Babel, or Vite
Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming
Testing experience with tools like Jest, Mocha, or Cypress
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

Experience delivering scalable, high-performance web apps and collaborating across engineering/design teams
