About the role

Role Overview

Frontend Engineer (Remote) on a contract basis. You will develop and maintain user interfaces for web applications, implementing responsive designs, integrating with backend systems, and optimizing frontend performance.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain responsive, accessible frontend components using modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Collaborate with designers and backend engineers to convert UI/UX wireframes into high-quality code
  • Optimize application performance and ensure cross-browser compatibility
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural discussions

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, including responsive design
  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular
  • Strong understanding of web accessibility standards and cross-browser compatibility
  • Familiarity with state management (e.g., Redux or Context API)
  • Experience with Git (version control)
  • Knowledge of build tools such as Webpack, Babel, or Vite
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming
  • Testing experience with tools like Jest, Mocha, or Cypress
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience delivering scalable, high-performance web apps and collaborating across engineering/design teams
