Frontend Engineer (React.js + TypeScript)

Role Overview

Principal Frontend Engineer to own the frontend architecture of a TypeScript/React application. You’ll define technical standards and build scalable UI patterns for complex geospatial workflows, particularly using Cesium.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement frontend architecture and technical standards for TypeScript/React applications
• Design and develop scalable UI patterns for geospatial workflows using Cesium
• Establish best practices for:
  • state management
  • component architecture
  • performance optimization
  • testing
  • code maintainability
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to plan, prioritize, and deliver high-impact features
• Mentor engineers via code reviews and architecture discussions; guide implementation strategies
• Write production-ready code focused on performance, reliability, and security

Requirements

• 8+ years building and scaling front-end systems
• Deep expertise in React and TypeScript
• Strong architectural judgment balancing speed with long-term maintainability
• Proven track record leading complex, interactive, data-heavy UIs where performance is critical
• Experience with design systems and component libraries, specifically MUI
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with minimal overhead
• Excellent communication skills aligning teams around patterns and technical decisions
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting complex geospatial workflows and related UI capabilities (implied by Cesium focus)
