Frontend Engineer (React.js, TypeScript)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Frontend Engineer to shape the architecture and development of TypeScript/React applications. You will own frontend design, set technical standards, and build scalable UI patterns for complex geospatial workflows (including Cesium integration). This is a hands-on, coding-intensive role where you will also mentor engineering teams and collaborate with leadership on product priorities.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement frontend architecture and technical standards
• Build scalable UI patterns for geospatial workflows, including Cesium integration
• Establish best practices for:
  • State management
  • Component architecture
  • Performance optimization
  • Testing and maintainability
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to plan, prioritize, and deliver product features
• Mentor and review code to ensure consistency and technical growth
• Drive development through active coding, troubleshooting, and UI component refinement
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate UI with backend services
• Stay current on industry trends and improve platform performance and usability

Requirements

• 8+ years building and scaling frontend systems
• Deep expertise in React and TypeScript
• Strong architectural judgment balancing speed with maintainability
• Proven ability leading complex, interactive, data-heavy UI projects
• Experience with design systems and component libraries (preferably MUI)
• Ability to operate efficiently in fast-paced environments with minimal process overhead
• Excellent communication skills to align teams around technical patterns and decisions

Nice to Have / Additional Context

• Experience integrating complex visualization/geospatial workflows (explicitly with Cesium)
• Capability to influence and standardize engineering practices across teams
