Frontend Engineer, Payments & Risk

Role overview

Frontend Engineer focused on Payments & Risk within Stripe’s Payments organization and a Risk Engineering subteam. You’ll build consumer-focused UIs and full-stack products that impact thousands of employees and millions of Stripe users.

Responsibilities

• Own and solve end-to-end problems across a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies
• Build elegant APIs and user experiences that help merchants run and scale their businesses on Stripe
• Create new products and features with large-scale impact (e.g., faster and more seamless checkout)
• Explore next-gen payments experiences leveraging Stripe’s payment technology
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Infrastructure, Marketing, and Operations
• Develop and execute against short- and long-term roadmaps
• Make tradeoffs across business priorities, user experience, and sustainable technical foundations
• Uphold high engineering standards and improve consistency across codebases and processes

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience
• Emphasis on modern frontend technologies: HTML/CSS/TypeScript/React
• Experience building delightful user interfaces
• Comfortable operating as a frontend developer and owning projects end-to-end
• Motivated by hard problems; measure success by real impact
• Thrive in a highly collaborative, stakeholder-driven environment

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in high-growth teams similar to Stripe
• Experience building financial systems or tools for financial experts

Location / work setup

• Hybrid: remote or office, with a requirement of being 35+ miles (56+ km) from a Stripe office for remote availability
• Office-based employees spend at least 50% of time in the local office or with users
