About the role
Role Overview
As a Frontend Engineer at Loft, you’ll work on tools and web applications for satellite operations—including refining the UI of Cockpit (satellite operations software) and improving autopilot observability and satellite management capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Build and refine tools for satellite operations and autopilot observability
- Develop and maintain web applications and services
- Collaborate with the team on UI/UX improvements (you don’t need to be a designer, but should care about good UX)
- Integrate with backend services using GraphQL APIs
- Support internal teams in using Cockpit
- Gain hands-on exposure to satellite operations (mission success is a shared responsibility)
Requirements (Must Haves)
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience with Vue or React
- Experience building SPAs (Single-Page Applications)
- Experience working with GraphQL APIs
- Experience with testing, including unit and integration testing (e.g., Vitest, Jest, Cypress)
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Web Components (Lit)
- Experience with mapping/geospatial libraries (e.g., Leaflet, Mapbox, CesiumJS) for visualizing satellite data
- Interest in space/aerospace (enthusiasm required; no prior experience needed)
- Strong UI/UX sensibility
