Frontend Engineer Lead

Role: Lead Frontend Engineer (Manager)

Own the technical direction of user-facing surfaces and lead the team building them. You’ll report to the Director of Engineering and manage a 5-engineer frontend team across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

• Set frontend technical direction: define architectural standards, patterns, and the code review bar across desktop, browser extension, productivity suite integration, and the mobile app; own frontend codebase health.
• Manage the team: run 1:1s, set goals, give feedback, hire, mentor, and own performance and growth.
• Own the release process across multiple surfaces with different release cadences (including off-cycle deployments and app store submissions).
• Ship the hardest features end-to-end: stay hands-on; lead complex cross-cutting implementations with product and design; focus on polish, interaction quality, and performance.
• Partner across the stack: coordinate with backend, infrastructure, QA, and AI; bring frontend feasibility into design early; read API contracts and debug end-to-end (without writing backend).

Requirements

• Senior frontend engineer with 7+ years building production web applications.
• Multi-surface experience across at least two platforms (web, browser extensions, productivity software integrations, or mobile; React Native preferred).
• People management experience: direct management including 1:1s, performance reviews, hiring, and growth.
• Strong design partnership: implement designs well, but push back to improve interactions.
• Comfortable debugging end-to-end and reading API contracts independently.

Nice to have

• Experience building/scaling React Native apps from early stages.
• Background in financial software / investment technology / fintech.
• Track record improving frontend performance, build times, or developer experience.
