About the role
Role Overview
Lead Front-End Engineer to design and build scalable, maintainable, high-performance front-end architecture for a React/Redux single-page application. You’ll partner with product managers and leadership in a startup environment, and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to review and refine product requirements and specifications
- Lead development of a React/Redux single-page application using best practices and high-quality code
- Make front-end architectural decisions and choose design patterns/front-end libraries to optimize performance and maintainability
- Ensure comprehensive testing via unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain industry standards
- Coordinate with other engineering teams to deliver features on time and to spec
- Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous improvement
- Stay current with industry trends and incorporate best practices
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years hands-on with React and Redux (or equivalent front-end frameworks)
- 1+ year leadership experience managing and/or mentoring engineering teams
- Strong proficiency in React, Redux, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration techniques
- Fluent English and strong communication skills
- California permanent resident status

- Initially remote; based out of California once circumstances permit
