Frontend Engineer (Js, TypeScript)

Role overview

As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will lead the architecture and evolution of the user-facing experience across Vetcove’s platforms. You’ll define frontend strategy and own critical frontend systems that support veterinary professionals and pet parents at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale frontend applications across web and mobile
• Develop and maintain high-performance React and React Native applications
• Define, enforce, and advocate for frontend best practices (performance, accessibility, maintainability)
• Build and evolve shared component libraries and design systems / frontend infrastructure
• Drive continuous improvements in performance, reliability, and user experience
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver cohesive, user-centered features
• Mentor junior engineers and influence technical direction across multiple product areas
• Debug and resolve complex frontend and cross-stack issues

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong frontend focus
• Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (especially React)
• Experience building and scaling complex frontend applications/systems
• Proven experience architecting shared component libraries, design systems, or frontend infrastructure
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers
• Strong understanding of API interactions (e.g., REST, GraphQL)
• Excellent communication skills and a product-oriented mindset
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degrees preferred)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with mobile development frameworks such as React Native
