Frontend Engineer (JavaScript)

Role overview

Staff Frontend Engineer responsible for defining and executing the technical vision for scaling interactive healthcare web applications. You’ll lead cross-functional work to deliver high-quality, performant, reliable user interfaces for healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical vision and strategy for building and scaling interactive web applications
• Lead cross-team collaborations to solve complex, open-ended problems
• Design and develop reusable components and frontend frameworks
• Build intuitive, performant, and reliable UIs using modern frontend tools
• Partner with backend and QA engineers on specification, testing, and deployment
• Translate product vision into actionable quarterly roadmaps
• Mentor and train junior engineers on design principles, coding standards, and best practices
• Gather requirements from product teams and provide feedback to drive solutions
• Review/architect end-to-end technical solutions and balance cost vs. value trade-offs
• Conduct code reviews and pair programming to maintain high-quality standards
• Contribute to testing practices to prevent regressions and ensure robustness

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with React.js
• 2+ years of experience with JavaScript type systems such as TypeScript
• 1+ year of experience with GraphQL and/or VTK in a production environment
• Experience with state management libraries such as Recoil, Redux, or MobX
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, design patterns, and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Nice to have

• Knowledge of WebGL, D3.js, or Three.js
