Role Overview

Frontend Engineer III, Moderation Enforcement at Reddit

This role helps build and iterate on the Moderation product experience—features that enable moderators to create and grow meaningful communities. You’ll contribute to scalable, low-latency frontend experiences and help strengthen Reddit’s design system and UI foundations.

Responsibilities

Drive new features end-to-end: prototyping → validation → implementation → launch → continuous iteration
Build a modern UX for accessing content and communities on Reddit
Contribute to Reddit’s design system (component library + UI best practices/tools)
Help build the technical foundation for future moderation features
Deliver highly scalable, high-quality, low-latency web experiences at Reddit’s scale
Collaborate with partner teams to ship reusable UI components
Tackle tough design and product problems
Work cross-functionally with design, product, and engineering
Participate across the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
Review code/design docs and provide feedback on product specs and mockups

Required Qualifications

3+ years web application development using JavaScript/TypeScript (or relevant languages)
Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
Deep experience with the modern web stack (e.g., bundlers, React internals)
Strong software engineering practices: unit testing, code reviews, design, documentation
Ability to debug, improve, and iterate on complex systems
Strong communication and organizational skills in a fully remote environment
BS in Computer Science (or similar) or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

Experience with Web Components or LitElement (helpful, not required)

Completely remote friendly within the United States
Optional office access if near San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, or Chicago
