Frontend Engineer

Role Overview

You will build and scale the user interfaces for HavocAI’s platform, focusing on data-driven, map-based, and visualization-heavy web applications. You’ll work with backend, platform, product, and design teams to deliver reliable frontend systems for real-time data and complex operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Frontend Systems Development
  • Develop performant interfaces using React
  • Build and maintain UI components for data-rich applications
  • Support UIs handling real-time data, operational workflows, and mission-critical use cases
• Data Integration & Performance
  • Integrate with backend services via REST, GraphQL, or similar APIs
  • Improve rendering performance for large datasets and real-time updates
  • Debug frontend issues and continuously enhance performance across devices/browsers
• Architecture & Maintainability
  • Contribute to frontend architecture (state management, data flow, application structure)
  • Build reusable components and UI patterns
  • Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with backend, platform, product, and design to deliver end-to-end features
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning
  • Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and technical considerations

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of frontend engineering (or related software engineering)
• Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience building data-driven web applications
• Working knowledge of APIs and asynchronous data flows
• Solid understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and performance
• Familiarity with modern frontend tooling and development workflows
• Ability to build reliable UIs for complex workflows and data-rich applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance

Preferred Skills

• Map/geospatial apps using Mapbox, Leaflet, or Deck.gl
• Familiarity with WebGL or advanced visualization frameworks
• Automated testing with Jest, Cypress, or similar tools
• Experience with design systems and reusable component architecture
• Experience with real-time/data streaming apps or operational dashboards
• Exposure to mission-critical deployed systems
• Experience in small, fast-moving engineering teams
• Active or prior security clearance
