About the role
Frontend Engineer
Deepshard is looking for a hands-on Frontend Engineer to help shape the core product experience for an early product in a fast-evolving category.
Role overview
- Design and build frontend features for key product surfaces and reusable UI components
- Work with real-time data flows, app integrations, and the frontend architecture needed for fast, reliable, and evolvable performance
- Own meaningful parts of the user experience end to end and collaborate closely with engineering and product leadership
Responsibilities
- Build production frontend features using React, TypeScript, and modern CSS
- Create desktop application experiences using Electron and web technologies
- Implement intuitive interfaces for workflows, integrations, notifications, settings, and real-time activity
- Work with APIs, async data flows, streamed updates, and client-side state management
- Improve frontend architecture, component quality, accessibility, performance, and test coverage
- Partner with backend/product engineers to shape APIs and user experiences
- Debug complex UI and state issues across desktop/renderer/service boundaries
Requirements
- Strong experience building production web applications with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience with React and modern frontend patterns
- Strong judgment on component design, state management, performance, accessibility, and UX
- Comfortable working in a large/evolving codebase and making pragmatic tradeoffs
- Ability to turn ambiguous product ideas into clean, shippable interfaces
- Experience consuming APIs and working with asynchronous/real-time data
- Strong ownership and communication; bias toward action
Nice to have
- Experience with Electron or web-technology-based desktop applications
- Experience with gRPC/protobuf, streaming APIs, or event-driven UIs
- Experience with tools/libraries such as TanStack Query, virtualized lists, Storybook, Vitest, Playwright, or design systems
- Strong product intuition and visual taste
Compensation & benefits
- Expected base salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year (depends on experience, level, location, and ability)
