Role Overview

Frontend / Digital Experience Developer (WordPress + JavaScript)

Join Tier4 Group to build engaging digital experiences, custom websites, and web applications. You’ll combine modern JavaScript frontend development with advanced WordPress engineering to deliver responsive, accessible, and high-performing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Translate designs (wireframes/mockups) into responsive, accessible, pixel-perfect UI.
• Build dynamic user interfaces and single-page applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React and Vue.js).
• Develop custom WordPress themes from scratch (no page builders).
• Create and maintain custom WordPress plugins for client-specific requirements.
• Use the WordPress REST API to build headless/decoupled, API-driven solutions.
• Build reusable components/modules/tools to improve scalability and maintainability.
• Integrate third-party services and APIs (e.g., CRM, analytics, eCommerce, mapping, and other business systems).
• Optimize for performance, accessibility, SEO, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, backend developers, and project managers across the delivery lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and architectural decisions.
• Debug and troubleshoot frontend and WordPress-related issues.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional frontend/web development.
• Strong in HTML5, CSS3, Sass/SCSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Hands-on experience with React, Vue.js, or similar component-based frameworks.
• Advanced WordPress development, including:
  • Custom theme development
  • Custom plugin development and maintenance
  • WordPress REST API
  • Custom post types and taxonomies
• Strong experience integrating and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Git and modern version control workflows.
• Strong debugging/troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration.

Preferred / Standout Skills

• Headless or decoupled WordPress architectures.
• React Native / mobile development.
• WordPress performance optimization, security, and caching expertise.
• Accessibility knowledge (e.g., WCAG).
• Experience with Tailwind CSS or other utility-first CSS frameworks.
• Advanced third-party API integrations.
• Agency/consulting experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Web/application performance optimization expertise.
