About the role
Role Overview
The Frontend Developer builds, maintains, and optimizes user-facing interfaces across The Donovan’s Venom web platforms and applications. You’ll translate design mockups into responsive, accessible, high-performing user experiences while partnering with design and backend teams.
Responsibilities
- Frontend Development
- Develop and maintain UI using HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Create responsive and interactive web components
- UI/UX Implementation
- Convert design specifications into functional interfaces
- Ensure design accuracy, consistency, and improved usability
- Responsive Design & Compatibility
- Ensure consistent experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile and supported browsers
- Performance Optimization
- Improve frontend performance and load times
- Reduce rendering/resource inefficiencies
- Accessibility Implementation
- Apply accessibility best practices and support standards such as WCAG
- Deliver inclusive user experiences
- Code Quality & Standards
- Write clean, maintainable, scalable code
- Participate in code reviews and improvements
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with designers (UI/UX alignment), backend developers (integration), and product/program teams
- Debugging & Issue Resolution
- Troubleshoot frontend bugs and inconsistencies
- Maintain stable and functional interfaces
- Component & Asset Management
- Build reusable UI components
- Organize frontend assets for scalable development
- Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Document code, components, and processes
- Improve frontend architecture/workflows and stay current with modern frameworks
Volunteer Commitment Expectations
- 10–15 hours per week (flexible schedule)
- Participation in development meetings required
- Fully remote
Minimum Qualifications
- 2–4 years of frontend/web development experience
- Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Experience building responsive interfaces
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with frontend frameworks: React or Vue
- Git (version control)
- Familiarity with accessibility standards
- Frontend performance optimization techniques
- Experience working in remote teams
