Frontend Developer

Role Overview

Morey is hiring a Front-End Engineer to own the design implementation layer across web and mobile applications. You’ll be the single front-end person on a small team, responsible for delivering what users see and interact with—from Next.js web apps to mobile experiences built with web technologies (e.g., Capacitor/PWA).

Responsibilities

• Own the front-end codebase across web and mobile: architecture decisions, implementation, testing, and deployment
• Build and maintain React + Next.js web applications
• Deliver mobile apps using web-based cross-platform approaches (Capacitor, PWA, or similar)
• Establish front-end patterns and standards, including:
  • component architecture
  • state management
  • styling approach
  • testing strategy
• Collaborate with back-end and cloud infrastructure teams to integrate APIs and manage data flow
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining high output
• Handle cross-platform UX consistency while respecting platform conventions

Requirements (Must Have)

• 3+ years of professional front-end development experience
• Strong proficiency in React and Next.js (App Router, SSR/SSG, API routes)
• Solid modern CSS knowledge (e.g., Tailwind, CSS Modules, styled-components), plus responsive design and accessibility fundamentals
• Experience building and maintaining component libraries with Storybook
• Experience with RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
• Comfortable working as the sole front-end developer and owning the full scope
• Familiarity with TypeScript
• Experience with modern build tools, CI/CD, and front-end testing (e.g., Jest, Playwright, Cypress)

Nice to Have (Strongly Preferred)

• Cross-platform mobile experience with web technologies (Capacitor, Ionic, React Native, or PWAs)
• B2B SaaS / internal tooling UI experience (dashboards, data tables, forms, device management)
• Experience with IoT/telematics interfaces (maps, real-time data, device status)
• Demonstrated use of AI-assisted workflows (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude)
• Experience standing up a design system from scratch (tokens, patterns, documentation)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerized deployment
• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or MCP-powered UI/apps
