About the role
Role Overview
You’ll be a Front End Engineer / Software Engineer responsible for building the frontend of a brand-new (greenfield) custom CMS platform from scratch. You’ll own the product end-to-end for the UI, workflows, reader-facing templates, and editor tools, working in a small team with direct access to the CTO and CEO.
Responsibilities
- Build and own the frontend of a new CMS platform using React + TypeScript
- Translate wireframes and feature ideas into fully functioning UI/UX
- Implement responsive, performant, scalable interfaces for editors, advertisers, and readers
- Collaborate with backend developers on Node.js and Python/FastAPI integrations and Postgres data needs
- Contribute to component architecture, state management, and frontend best practices
- Ship production code quickly with immediate go-live changes
- Use AI-assisted coding tools daily (Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) to accelerate development while maintaining code quality
Requirements
- 3–6 years experience in frontend or full-stack development
- Proven ability building complex single-page applications (SPAs) from scratch
- Strong React + TypeScript skills
- Comfort working with backend code and integrations: Python/FastAPI, Node.js, Postgres
- Daily usage of AI coding tools is required (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor)
- Strong UX and product instincts
- Startup mindset: self-directed, pragmatic, and able to move fast with minimal guidance
Nice to Have
- Experience with multi-tenant or white-label products
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and CI/CD workflows
