Frontend Developer

Role overview

Join HiredBuddy as a Frontend Developer I to build engaging, responsive user-facing web experiences. This remote, entry-level role focuses on translating designs into accessible, performant interfaces while collaborating with designers, backend developers, and product managers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Implement designs from Figma or Sketch with visual accuracy and cross-browser compatibility
• Collaborate with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and present data
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and follow best practices
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and suggest improvements
• Work in an Agile environment (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
• Assist with component libraries and design systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve UI issues reported by users or QA

Requirements

• 0–2 years of frontend development experience (internships and personal projects count)
• HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+) proficiency
• Familiarity with at least one modern framework: React, Vue, or Angular
• Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design
• Basic knowledge of Git (version control)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications / Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Web Development (or equivalent practical experience)
• Portfolio or GitHub repo showcasing frontend work (highly encouraged)
• Experience with SASS or LESS
• Knowledge of asynchronous request handling (e.g., for REST calls)
