Frontend Developer - Contingent

Role Overview

Aretum is seeking a Frontend Developer (Contingent) to support and enhance a client application. The role focuses on accessibility, reliability, and optimal performance in an Agile, sprint-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support to maintain and enhance the client application
• Support development, enhancements, accessibility, integration, optimization, and maintenance
• Ensure the application is available and operating correctly
• Work in a sprint-based Agile development cycle
• Utilize AWS cloud capabilities and collaborate with a stack involving Python backends and TypeScript front ends

Requirements

• 3 years of frontend development experience
• Bachelor’s Degree (or 3 years additional experience in lieu of a degree)
• Experience with modern frontend techniques and frameworks, including:
  • HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Design
  • Modern JavaScript practices and relevant tools/frameworks/libraries
• Understanding of Section 508 compliance and WCAG standards
• Experience with accessibility testing (automated and manual)
• Ability to consume RESTful APIs
• Experience working with Agile methodologies
• Experience with version control systems
• Ability to create web layouts from static images and integrate with views/templates in full-stack frameworks

Nice to Have / Context

• AWS cloud environment familiarity
• Comfort handling CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information) due to federal consulting work

Travel

• Remote position with occasional travel (<10%) for project needs, client meetings, collaboration events, or training.
