Frontend Developer

Role overview

Join a fully remote team as a React/Redux Frontend Developer. You will build user interface components for VA.gov, integrating with web services/APIs while supporting federal compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement UI components using React.js and Redux
• Integrate frontend with REST/SOAP APIs and other web services
• Participate in system planning, deployment, and testing
• Oversee frontend development processes and contribute to release/rollout of new functionality
• Create user guidelines, perform system analysis, and optimize performance/functionality
• Develop user stories and help estimate timelines
• Lead integration testing, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless system operation
• Maintain clear documentation (reports and operational procedures)
• Mentor team members, participate in code and sprint reviews, and promote continuous improvement
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders to address challenges and stay aligned with federal requirements

Requirements

• React.js and Redux development expertise
• 2–5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent)
• Analytical and investigative skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Team collaboration experience
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and the software development lifecycle
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust/Suitability security clearance

Nice-to-haves

• AWS experience (government cloud environments)
• Unit testing and end-to-end testing
• Version control/tools: Jira, GitHub, Confluence
