About the role

Role Overview

Closure Technologies is seeking a Lead Frontend Developer to support a mission-critical geospatial program based in Chantilly, VA. You will be the sole frontend engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the user interface for complex geospatial applications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain frontend components for geospatial applications using Vue.js
Build responsive, high-performance UIs that handle large datasets and complex geospatial visualizations
Integrate mapping/geospatial libraries for dynamic data visualization and spatial analysis
Collaborate with backend developers and stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow
Maintain code quality via code reviews, testing, and best practices
Manage deployment workflows and CI/CD pipelines for reliable automated releases
Identify and resolve frontend performance issues
Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and incorporate best practices

Requirements

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Extensive production experience with Vue.js
Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript skills; component-based UI architecture
Hands-on experience with UI frameworks such as Vuetify (or similar)
Familiarity with geospatial/mapping libraries including OpenLayers, Turf.js, GeoLib, and Geodesy
Ability to work independently as the sole frontend developer

Nice to Have

Experience shaping frontend architecture/robust UX for security- and performance-sensitive applications
