About the role
Role Overview
Closure Technologies is seeking a Lead Frontend Developer to support a mission-critical geospatial program based in Chantilly, VA. You will be the sole frontend engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the user interface for complex geospatial applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain frontend components for geospatial applications using Vue.js
- Build responsive, high-performance UIs that handle large datasets and complex geospatial visualizations
- Integrate mapping/geospatial libraries for dynamic data visualization and spatial analysis
- Collaborate with backend developers and stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow
- Maintain code quality via code reviews, testing, and best practices
- Manage deployment workflows and CI/CD pipelines for reliable automated releases
- Identify and resolve frontend performance issues
- Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and incorporate best practices
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Extensive production experience with Vue.js
- Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript skills; component-based UI architecture
- Hands-on experience with UI frameworks such as Vuetify (or similar)
- Familiarity with geospatial/mapping libraries including OpenLayers, Turf.js, GeoLib, and Geodesy
- Ability to work independently as the sole frontend developer
Nice to Have
- Experience shaping frontend architecture/robust UX for security- and performance-sensitive applications
