About the role

Role Overview

Senior Front-End Software Engineer (React/TypeScript) on Beacon’s Web Apps Team. You’ll build first-class, data-rich web applications that support EEG analysis, clinical study management, and physician-facing diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Develop React/TypeScript web applications.
Design and implement UX workflows for:
- Clinical study management
- Data analytics
- Patient diagnostics
Own product quality across user experience, performance, reliability, and observability for the features you ship.
Leverage real user feedback across diverse environments and use cases.
Partner with product designers and cross-functional teams to deliver user-centric capabilities for internal and external personas.
Help shape the roadmap and technical direction for Beacon’s web apps.
Support deployment of new features for Clinical Operations workflows (e.g., tracking compliance).

Examples of Work in the First 3–6 Months

Build features for visualizing insights in an ongoing clinical trial.
Create a physician workflow to convert AI outputs into customized diagnostic reports.
Enable study sites to better manage participant enrollment.

Requirements

8+ years of front-end web development experience with React and TypeScript.
Experience building data-rich apps with interactive visualization and manipulation of large datasets.
Product mindset with strong focus on UX, edge cases, and performance.
Familiar with GraphQL-based APIs and building scalable API consumers.
Skilled at finding and addressing performance bottlenecks (proficient with debugging and code profiling tools).
Strong communication skills and comfort in a collaborative, async environment.

Bonus / Nice-to-Haves

Experience with clinical trials, patients, or other regulated environments.
Knowledge of EEG or DSP.
Experience working on back-end systems or infrastructure.
Contributions to open source React/TypeScript projects.

Work Location

Remote work with in-person office hubs available in Boston and New York.
