Front End Software Engineer II

Role Overview

Software Engineer II – Front End is a remote position supporting the delivery of high-quality front-end software for mission-critical government functions. You’ll collaborate with a team to build, test, and maintain front-end applications while contributing to planning, design, and architecture discussions.

Responsibilities

• Estimate, develop, and complete front-end tasks (coding, requirements analysis, and implementation) with moderate oversight
• Debug, optimize, and monitor front-end applications to ensure performance and reliability in test and production
• Create and maintain tests, monitoring/analytics tooling, and deployment pipeline configurations
• Participate in on-call rotations to support stability and incident response
• Engage in planning sessions to understand architectural patterns and design considerations
• Contribute to system design discussions; clarify technical trade-offs and dependencies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive engineering practices and communication

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
• 3+ years of front-end engineering experience
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and modern frameworks such as React or Angular
• Experience debugging, optimizing, and monitoring applications in test and production
• Knowledge of testing methodologies, deployment pipelines, and instrumentation
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
