Front-End Engineer - US Remote Contractor

Role Overview

Bold+Beyond is seeking an experienced Front-End Engineer (US Remote Contractor) to join its Digital Product team. You’ll work with UX/UI designers and internal technical leadership to build responsive, scalable web experiences and custom WordPress and web applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers to deliver tight, forward-thinking, responsive front-end experiences.
• Build and maintain performant digital platforms with strong user experience.
• Develop custom WordPress websites using internal tools and frameworks.
• Build tailor-made web applications based on client technological needs.
• Deploy and maintain websites using automated deploys on VPS or manually via FTP and SSH tunnels.
• Partner with Project Management to scope functionality requests and support Sales for project scoping.
• Work with the Technical Director to deliver cutting-edge technology and efficient technical solutions.

Requirements

• 2+ years working with WordPress, including PHP, WordPress API, or WP GraphQL.
• 3+ years with modern web technologies: HTML5 and CSS3.
• 3+ years with JavaScript/TypeScript and ES Next + Babel.
• Experience with build systems/code bundlers: Gulp, Webpack, or Snowpack.
• Experience with CSS preprocessors: Sass, Less, and/or Post-CSS.
• Experience with front-end frameworks: Vue, React, Nuxt, or Next.js, including headless implementations and/or SSR.
• Experience with front-end animation libraries: GSAP, Tween, or animejs.
• Strong QA, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Consultative mindset: ability to move between projects and understand business needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Programming or similar.

Nice to Have

• Cloud experience: AWS, Firebase, Google Cloud, Netlify, etc.
• Graphics/shading experience: Three.js, WebGL.
• Familiarity with Pug/Jade templating.
• Knowledge of CI/CD operations and configuration.
• Familiarity with VPS setup/configuration via SSH.
