About the role

Role Overview

Front-End Engineer (Contractor) for UI/UX in a hybrid setup in NYC. You will develop solutions that help investment professionals research, monitor, and trade in real time using internal and external information.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements, prototype solutions, and deliver final frontend products.
  • Optimize user workflows and interactions across the investment process.
  • Partner with analysts, traders, quantitative researchers, and data scientists to design and deploy solutions for financial market questions.
  • Visualize financial data to enable insight discovery and improved research and decision-making.
  • Challenge the status quo and identify opportunities to evolve and enhance the platform.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of work experience, ideally with client/customer-facing UX/UI development.
  • Strong passion for building great user experiences, including for multi-tenant, real-time, high-performance web applications.
  • Experience with at least one of:
    • React, Angular, Redux, Electron, WebAssembly, Node.js
  • Experience with wireframing, prototyping, and user-centric design.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6) and TypeScript.
  • Proficiency in HTML5 (Canvas, WebWorkers, WebSockets), CSS3, and SASS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Contract Details

  • 6-month contractor engagement, with the possibility of optional extension or conversion.
